My attention waters
and tends
creating fertile ground
for sprouts to take root
the care needed in the beginning
is great and takes effort
once its foundation is firm,
supple and lush,
it can soar
up and up into the cosmos
to become what it was always
intended to be

Tear
A tear in the fabric
Discarded and forgotten
no time to mend the broken
The wind broke the silence
and the leaves twirled
unable to change their course.
Strong foundations seemed to crumble
and rumble, left tattered
and back to their original stone.
Was it too late to turn back time?
Have I had enough of this game of chance
where no one wins?
The night brought an early chill,
even though it was only late afternoon.
A voice seemed to stir
from the rubble, from the tattered
and torn into shreds.
The stars shined through
A reminder that all isn’t lost
all isn’t gone in the dark.
There is a constant light that can never dim.
The role of a lifetime
I used to feel FOMO When I was at home With a newborn Watching everyone around me Going about their lives, Being productive, Going on adventures, Enjoying their freedom. Little did I know that those Tired newborn days Was the most important role I would ever play. I was making sure my baby Would thrive and have the best start. And now I see the foundation was laid. Not only are my daughters healthy, They are loved and accepted And given freedom to explore And express who they are, Who they want to be, With unconditional Love and acceptance. My role continues but has evolved. Our nest is our cozy little home Where they dream and play; Where the yard is a center point, A meeting place, a magical space. And I marvel at their growth, Proud and grateful to embody This role I’m now in.
